We believe the best events begin with knowing what matters.

ABOUT REMEMBER THAT

Remember That is a boutique event planning and design studio built around a simple idea: the most memorable events feel deeply personal.

We take the time to understand the people, the purpose and the feeling behind an occasion—then bring together the details, design and logistics that allow it all to unfold naturally.

From intimate gatherings and milestone celebrations to larger occasions and destination events, our goal is never simply to make something beautiful. It is to create something that feels unmistakably yours.

WHY WE DO IT

It was never really about the event.

The flowers, the food, the music and the setting matter. But what stays with us is something more.

They remember who was there. The conversation that lasted longer than expected. The toast that made everyone laugh. The song that brought someone to the dance floor. The feeling of looking around and realizing that, for a little while, everyone you love was in the same place.

Those are the moments we plan for.

Because when the details are thoughtful and everything feels effortless, you get to stop hosting and start being there.

Fourteen years ago, we took our young family to the mountains of North Carolina for a holiday getaway at the Grove Park Inn. Our twin daughters were four, and somewhere during that trip we stumbled upon the National Gingerbread House Competition.

It was magical.

For four hours on the drive home, we talked about what we had seen. By the time we pulled into our driveway, Jennifer had an idea: We should enter next year.

Mike gave Jennifer the sideways look he has perfected over years of hearing her crazy ideas—and then, as he almost always does, said yes.

We had no baking experience. No culinary training. Just a vision, a willingness to figure it out, and the desire to create something extraordinary together.

So we did.

WHERE IT REALLY BEGAN

Long before it was our name,
it was something we said.

A group of five people, including two adults and three children, smiling and posing in front of a decorated Christmas tree with white and gold ornaments, lights, and flowers.

And then something happened we never expected.

That first year, we somehow finished in the top ten.

So we came back the next year. And the next.

What began as a crazy family idea became part of the rhythm of our lives. Our kitchen became a workshop. Dining tables became drafting tables. Vacations included sketchbooks and research. Mike engineered ways to transport things that probably should never have been transported. The girls grew up around piles of gingerbread, tools, sketches and the inevitable question: What if we tried this?

We learned to build things we didn't yet know how to build, solve problems we hadn't anticipated, and discover how completely the smallest details could change the way something felt.

Without realizing it, we had started creating something more.

We started creating experiences.

Somewhere along the way,
it became about more than gingerbread.

WHAT IT BECAME

Year after year, the ideas became more ambitious and the details more intricate. There were wins and disappointments, long nights and last-minute fixes, pieces that broke and ideas that worked better than we imagined.

And eventually, there were things we never could have planned for—recognition, friendships, traditions and memories that became part of our family's story.

But the thing we remember most was never where we placed.

It was everything that
happened around it.

THE PART THAT STAYED

“Remember that?”

It became something we said without really thinking about it.

Remember that trip?
Remember that year?
Remember when we tried that?
Remember how much fun we had?

Over time, we realized the things we remembered most weren't necessarily the biggest moments. They were everything surrounding them—the anticipation, the details, the people gathered around us, the unexpected things that happened along the way.

Those were the things that stayed.

And without knowing it, we had been learning something that would eventually become the idea—and the name—behind Remember That.

The best events don't simply happen.
They become part of your story.

We want you to remember how it felt.

WHY REMEMBER THAT

The details matter. The flowers, the food, the music, the setting—all of it helps create the experience.

But we plan for something more.

We want you to be present enough to notice the room. To hear the laughter. To have a conversation that runs long. To see the people you love gathered in one place without wondering what needs to happen next.

That is what thoughtful planning makes possible.

We take care of what happens behind the scenes so you can be fully present for what happens in the moment.

Because beautiful matters.

But how it felt is what you’ll remember.

MEET JENNIFER AND MIKE

Different strengths.
One shared instinct.

Remember That is the two of us — Jennifer and Mike — and we tend to see things from completely different directions.

Jennifer sees the feeling first: the atmosphere, the possibilities, what an idea could become.

Mike sees how to make it work: the logistics, the structure and what has to happen behind the scenes.

Somewhere between those two perspectives is where the magic tends to happen.

JENNIFER
The feeling.

Jennifer notices how something feels before almost anything else—the atmosphere, the way people move through a space and the small touches they may never consciously notice but somehow remember.

She loves taking the beginning of an idea and imagining what it could become. Her instinct is to keep asking questions, looking closer and finding the unexpected detail that makes an experience feel personal rather than produced.

MIKE
The how.

Mike sees what has to happen to make the idea work—the logistics, timing, structure and hundred little decisions happening behind the scenes.

He is the problem-solver, builder and steady hand who can take an ambitious idea and figure out how to make it real. His instinct is to anticipate what could go wrong, solve it before it does and make the complicated feel effortless.

One sees what it could become.
One sees how to make it happen.
Together, we make it real.

WHAT WE BRING TO YOUR STORY

Your story is where we begin.

Every gathering begins with something that matters—a person, a milestone, a place, a feeling, a reason for bringing people together.

We begin there.

We listen. We notice. We ask questions. Then we take care of the details—both the ones everyone will see and the ones they never will.

The goal isn't to make your event feel like us.

It's to make it feel unmistakably like you.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Let’s make something
worth remembering.

Tell us what you’re imagining. We’ll take it from there.
